Scotiabank is a founding clearing member and a shareholder of the Mexican Derivatives Exchange (MexDer) and the Mexican Clearing House, Asigna, through a trust called Socio Liquidador Inverlat, and operating under the legal name Scotia Inverlat Derivados S.A. de C.V. The main objective of the trust is to clear options and futures contracts traded by its clients in MexDer.

Opening An Account

To open your MexDer account with Scotiabank, follow these three steps:

  1. Contact us and send all documents required
  2. We receive the documents, fill the contracts and send them back to you
  3. Sign the completed contract and send it to us

Note: all contracts are cleared by Socio Liquidador Inverlat.

Documents Required:

  • By-Laws
  • Power of Attorney
  • Official ID with photograph and signature of the people with Powers of Attorney (i.e. Passport)
  • Tax ID of the Company and legal representative(s)
  • Address of the Company (Official Receipt)
  • Financial Statements (for the last four months)
