Chris Manning
Executive Vice President, Global Business Payments
Chris Manning was appointed Executive Vice President, Global Business Payments in September 2023. In this role, Chris is responsible for Scotiabank’s global payments vision and strategy, including the oversight of wholesale deposits and cash management service and sales, trade finance and correspondent banking for business banking customers. He was appointed Senior Vice President of Global Business Payments in 2020 before being promoted to his current role.
Chris joined Scotiabank in 2007 in our Roynat Capital business, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank. Since that time, he has held progressively senior roles across International Corporate & Commercial Banking, Canadian Commercial Banking and Global Risk Management. Most recently, as Senior Vice President, Canadian Retail and Small Business Risk and Chief Risk Officer, Tangerine, Chris led portfolio risk strategies and adjudication operations for the Bank’s Canadian consumer businesses.
In 2020 Chris was appointed Chair of the Board of Junior Achievement Central Ontario. Chris was recognized with a 2022 Women in Capital Markets Champions of Change Award for his leadership in advancing equality in the Canadian finance industry and fostering a culture of inclusion across Scotiabank. He holds an MBA from Queen’s School of Business.
Loretta Marcoccia
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Global Banking and Markets
Loretta Marcoccia was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Global Banking and Markets in November 2018. In this role, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Global Banking and Markets, developing and implementing strategy and priority business and regulatory initiatives as well as global wholesale operations, global client and business analytics and financial engineering.
Loretta joined Scotiabank in 2015 as Managing Director and COO for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) before taking on the expanded role of Managing Director and COO of Global Capital Markets. In March 2017, she was appointed Senior Vice-President & Chief Administrative Officer for Global Banking and Markets.
Prior to joining Scotiabank, Loretta worked at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch where she held increasingly senior roles and ultimately served as Managing Director and COO for Canada. She has 30+ years of financial services experience that span retail banking, human resources, and capital markets, and has led several large-scale global business and regulatory initiatives.
Loretta graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a Specialist in Administration. She is a member of Scotiabank’s Inclusion Council, the Executive Champion of Global Banking and Markets’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program and the Executive Sponsor of The Scotiabank Women Initiative for Global Banking and Markets. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Dress for Success and was a member of the inaugural Board of Directors for Women in Capital Markets (WCM).
She was recognized in the 2023 Report on Business Best Executive Awards for outstanding executive leadership. In 2022, Loretta was recognized with a WCM Champions of Change Award for her leadership in advancing equality in the Canadian finance industry and creating a culture of inclusion at Scotiabank.
