Cultivating an inclusive culture
Individuals are respected for who they are, and employees are empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
Inclusion begins at the top of our organization and is embedded into the way we work at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets (GBM), how we serve our clients, help our colleagues and support our communities.
Across the Bank, we know that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) not only supports the development of our performance-oriented culture, it is a business imperative. Our clients increasingly expect us to have diverse teams to support their business needs, and we have a responsibility to deliver. Diversity of thinking also allows us to bring more thoughtful and innovative solutions to our clients.
Since we established the GBM Diversity & Inclusion Office in 2015, we have worked to foster a culture of inclusion. In 2019, we refined our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy to focus on three key pillars – to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce, where everyone can have the opportunity to achieve success and reach their fullest potential.
We are taking bold steps and through our formal and informal networks, we are passionate about raising awareness and making a positive difference throughout our global presence.
